The CEO of Necco candy maker has announced that if they do not find a buyer soon they will have to close the companies doors.  The Boston Globe has reported that Michael McGee, CEO of Necco stated in a March 6th notice that the company:

has been in ongoing negotiations with potential buyers to allow for its continued operations, but that if a sale is not completed or if the company opts for layoffs, employees could be terminated as soon as 60 days from the date of the notice.

Necco, makes the what some would call classic sweet treats such as: Sweethearts, Mary Janes, Clark bars, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Canada Mints and Necco Wafers.

According to candystore.com since the company announced their potential closing Necco sales spiked over 50% in March.

So start buying all the Sweethearts, Mary Janes, Clark bars, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Canada Mints and Necco Wafers you can.  They soon may not be available for your pleasure.
