WLNS.com reports that the Michigan State Board of Trustees has come public with support of MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon's leadership abilities for the university after a closed door meeting Friday.

Simon has come under scrutiny this week after victim impact statements that have been made during sentencing hearings for Dr. Larry Nassar in an Ingham County courtroom. The MSU student newspaper, The State News, published articles and headlines asking Simon to resign her post. A multitude of state lawmakers have also come forward asking Simon to resign, on top of the countless outcries on social media by the general public.

But, today, the MSU Board of Trustees reiterated its support of SImon as "the right leader" for the university. For full details on the board of trustees closed door work session Friday, follow this link to WLNS.com.
