Now there's one golf course I never had the pleasure of playing at. I'm talking about the old Waverly Golf Course. Yes I play a lot of golf when possible, but Waverly was not one of them.

According to the Lansing State Journal, it could take a decade to completely redevelop the former Waverly Golf Course, but residents can expect to see demolition of buildings within the next month.

The golf course closed 12 years ago. Today, no trespassing signs can be found on the fence at its borders along Michigan Avenue and West Saginaw Highway.

I can't tell you how many times some of my friends asked me to play golf on that golf course, I just never got around to it.

So now the property is empty, except for a few run down buildings, including a former clubhouse and maintenance office.

Somewhere down the road, WestPark, the proposed mixed use development slated for the property, could include restaurants, gas stations, a convenience store, apartments, and so much more.

This is roughly a 120 acre site. Please click on the above link for more information.
