New efforts to generate more money for cash strapped Detroit. The city's Emergency Manager, Kevyn Orr says those who are ticketed at an expired parking meter should pay more. Right now the fine is $20. He says it should be $45. He also says fines should go up for those who do not pay what they owe within 30 days.

Right now if you pay a parking in Detroit within 10 days the fine will be reduced. Orr would like to see that reduction come to an end.

A public hearing on the proposal is being held this afternoon at Detroit City Hall.
