There are currently seven possible cases of Legionnaires Disease that are being investigated by state as well as county health experts at McLaren Macomb Hospital.

According to WILX, six out of the seven cases have been reported since as early as September. The last case can be traced back to July.

Officials are working on trying to identify whether or not all the cases are linked or not. The hospital is working with officials on this investigation.

Legionnaires disease is also known as legionellosis, which is an atypical pneumonia that is caused by a certain type of Legionella bacteria. Symptoms of Legionnaires Disease include a cough, shortness of breath, high fever, headaches, as well as possible muscle pains.
