We tend to use butter a lot while cooking. Whether it is being used as a non-stick element, or just being used to add some flavor to the toast you have every morning, we frequent it a lot.

There is a batch of butter that is being recalled here in Michigan due to contamination from fecal matter, which could pose some health concerns for you and your family. See the full recall below.

Michigan was just included in a butter recall that is hitting multiple states, over 8-ounce salted butter. The concerns over the possibility of fecal contamination found inside of the butter.

The recall affects the California-based Mark-Crest Butter Company, which issued a recall on their "Salted Butter" sold in an 8-ounce pack.

The recall was initiated after a bacteria, known as Coliform, which can typically found in unsanitary conditions. The bacteria can cause food born illnesses, with symptoms varying from vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and even diarrhea. Those who have weakened immune systems, as well the young and elderly are the most at risk.

The products will have a best by date of September 9, 2025.
