MSU Police: Rumors are False, Authorities Have Not Found Brendan Santo
Some false rumors are making their way through East Lansing today.
It has been heavily rumored that Michigan State Police have found missing 18-year-old, Brendan Santo. These rumors are false.
As confirmed by MSU Police Inspector Chris Rozman, the police have not found Brendan Santo at this time. And we were not the only media outlet that had called his office today seeking comment.
Rozman went on to confirm that diligent search efforts continue.
A water search operation was conducted today [December 1st] with the Oakland County Sheriff dive team on site. We conducted search operation by boat and with divers in the water.
This comes just two days after MLive reported that MSU police were "consulting with water experts to better focus their search efforts." For some time now, MSU Police have been focusing their search efforts on the Red Cedar River, even considering damming it to aid in the search as little as six days ago, according to WILX.

Rozman went on to say that even more intense searches will continue tomorrow, December 2nd. "There is an extensive dive operation planned for tomorrow on Red Cedar with additional resources coming from around the state of Michigan that have not been used yet."
Brendan Santo went missing from Michigan State University's campus on October 29th while here visiting. The Grand Valley student was last seen leaving Yakeley Hall just before midnight that Friday. Santo can be described as "5 feet, 8 inches tall, 160 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing gray sweatpants, a black T-shirt, a black baseball hat, as well as the Converse shoes," according to MLive. Santo's Converse shoes, along with several other items, including "a necklace with a cross on it, keys and a car key fob, an iPhone12 and case", have not yet been found by police either.
