Saturday was busy with a bear sighting around the southeast side of Grand Rapids, well the Michigan DNR was able to capture and relocate the bear today.

According to WZZM13, DNR received a call that the bear was actually in a tree on Horton St. SE around 8 am Sunday morning.  GRPD had been tracking the bear since Saturday afternoon when people started seeing it around the Indian Trails Golf Course.

DNR responded just after 9 am and shot the bear with a tranquilizer dart while it was in the tree. Once the bear fell from the tree (uninjured according to DNR)  they loaded it into a bear trap trailer and took it up north, WZZM13 reports.

The bear is expected to be just fine and enjoying pic-a-nic baskets in the U.P. in no time.
