Avoid Heading To This Great Lake

If you're headed to Lake Superior, you might want to proceed with caution, as swimmer's itch has been caught a lot lately in the lake.

Now, I know what you're thinking, Superior is a little too cold to take a dip in. However, swimmer's itch is possible in any of the lakes, especially with ones where birds are around. Ducks especially.

There are some ways to avoid swimmers' itch. The best way is to keep the towel off after swimming. Keeping a waterproof barrier will keep them from burrowing into the skin. Some other things to try are baby oil or the over-the-counter Swimmers Itch Guard.
