Auto analysts were expecting a modest gain among the nation's automakers, and it looks like the numbers are heading in the right direction.

The Detroit News is reporting today that Chrysler's sales rose 22% last month from the same period a year ago.  Sales of Jeeps and Ram brands led the way.

Jeep sales increased more than 50%, according to the article.  Ram truck sales jumped 36%.

Nissan's October sales increased just over 13% for the period.  Sales of the automaker's Rogue crossover hit a record high along with sales of their electric LEAF model.

Honda also reported a sales hike today of just under 6%.

Ford and General Motors have yet to report sales for the period, but both are believed to report solid increases.
