MLive.com is reporting today that Christopher Velthuysen, who is serving a life sentence at the Baraga Correctional facility, has filed suit in U. S. District Court in Grand Rapids.  He claimed that what was listed on the menu was "not"' what appeared on his plate.

The filing indicated that the inmate cited numerous food problems, including moldy bread and milk beyond it's expiration date.

The 43 year-old Velthuysen has also sued corrections department workers for being unresponsive to his claims.

The incident is just the latest bad news for the food provider, which is already under scrutiny for a number of complaints involving food quality but also inappropriate staff behavior with inmates.

Governor Rick Snyder said he is taking the allegations against Aramark very seriously and has hired a former Corrections Department official from Florida to oversee a plan of improvement.
