This is the time of year for giving, and giving the gift of blood could save a life. The American Red Cross is urging healthy donors of all blood types to donate blood or platelets and help ensure a healthy blood supply for patients with the COVID-19 and the pandemic this holiday season. It's easy and safe and does not take much time.

There is always a slow down of donations between Thanksgiving and New Years says The American Red Cross.

Help the Red Cross by downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or enabling the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device.

And here is another reason to give according to Wallethub.com. Michigan is rated 35th for the most charitable states in America. Let's move that number to the top 10 by helping The American Red Cross.

Tis the season for giving, and the latest World Giving Index shows that the United States has been the most generous country over the course of the last ten years. U.S. donors in 2019 gave more than $449 billion to charity, with 69% of the funds coming directly from individuals, according to the National Philanthropic Trust.

This is a great way to give back if this has been financially a tough year like it has been for many. Plus the American Red Cross in always looking for volunteers to help out if you're not working right now and have some time on your hands. Contact them with any questions at 1-800-733-2767. Thanks in advance for your help, kids.
