A New Use For a Very Historic Michigan Building
Today Lansing city officials announced the former Michigan School For The Blind facility will be redeveloped into a residential apartment complex. The building itself is nearly 164 years old. The school opened in 1915 and closed in 1995. Through the years many students were taught there including music legend Stevie Wonder.
A variety of different sources will help cover the cost of the renovation project including the Michigan State Housing Development Authority. If all goes as planned actual work will start next year.
