Commissioner of Major League Baseball, Rob Manfred says that 22 teams are going to expand their protective netting in ballparks in the 2020 season.

Fifteen of the teams are planning on expanding their netting to where the outfield begins to angle away from the field. The other seven, according to WILX, are going to expand their protective netting to the foul poles.

This update was given during the winter meeting at San Diego. The other eight teams have already installed netting that goes beyond the far end of the dugouts, Manfred said.

Expanding netting began back in 2015 after an increase in injuries.
