Two young children had to be rescued from Lake Michigan in Holland, Michigan, Tuesday afternoon at Holland State Park.

According to WZZM, after not abiding to the beach warning that was still in effect, a 9-year-old boy from Davidson, Michigan, was having a tough time swimming in the rough water had to yell out for help. That is when a 12-year-old girl from Colorado went into action and tried to get the boy out of the water. The current was very strong and was pushing both of them toward the pier. Luckily for both of them, some bystanders tossed the children life rings then pulled them out safely.

Fortunately the kids did not need medical treatment and the Paramedics released them back to their parents. Ottawa County deputies urge people to obey the signs and flags warning swimmers of dangerous conditions.

It looks like Wednesday and Thursday swimming conditions should be much better for those wanting to enjoy the West Michigan lake shore.
