When taking a students socioeconomic status into consideration you find that public charter schools outperform conventional public schools on the state's Top-to-Bottom list. This is according to an analysis done Mackinac Center for Public Policy education policy director Audrey Spalding.

Another surprising fact is that Charter schools in Michigan have more students who receive or are eligible for free lunch than traditional public schools.  66.4% of charter schools students receive or are eligible to receive free lunches, conventional schools have 39.2%.

Interesting how Michigan's Superintendent of Education Michael Flanagan is talking about under performing public charter schools and not traditional public schools.  What is the difference between the two?  Oh I just remembered, public charter schools are not run by unions.

Interesting, very interesting, might there be an agenda here?
