Various media reports indicate the child, believed to be six years old, was found frightened, crying and asking for help.  When police tried to return him to his home in the 4100 block of Sheffield Boulevard, they made a grizzly discovery--the body of a woman in the kitchen of the home and a man found in the garage.

Police have not yet identified the pair but neighbors say they were the parents of the young boy.

The child was uninjured and has been placed with Child Protective Services.

Officials are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact authorities at either the Lansing Police Department or the Eaton County Sheriff's Department.
