A ban on college student-athletes getting unionized is on it’s way to the Governor.

House Bill 6074 passed the Michigan Senate by a vote of 25-11. Two Senators did not vote but the real question is who voted against the measure.

Student athletes are just that, students first and athletes second.

The bill would require all student-athletes be classified as “students,” keeping them from becoming employees of the state’s 15 public universities.

The real question is what Governor Snyder will do with the bill once it reaches his desk. Tonight there is no clear indication which way the governor is leaning. His decision however may indicate what direction his administration will lean for his second term.
