Turkey Salmonella Outbreak grows, Michigan Cases Found
According to WILX.com, a nationwide salmonella outbreak continues to grow, and cases have been reported in Michigan.
As we approach Thanksgiving, this serves as a reminder to ensure that raw turkey products are thoroughly cooked. 164 people in 35 states have been infected with salmonella. There has been one reported fatality.
Investigators from the Center for Disease Control attribute the infections to those handling raw turkey, working near raw turkey, or feeding raw turkey their pets. CDC officials say that the salmonella strain has been found in live turkeys and raw turkey products.
