Trouble for the GOP

A new mailer is spelling trouble for the Kalamazoo County Republican Party.

Recently a mailer was sent out that included the phone number of Democratic state House candidate John Fisher's mother.  The advertisement was paid for by the Michigan Republican Party.  It urged voters to get in contact with Fisher.

It is being reported that the phone number is registered to Fisher but in actuality it is a direct line to a room at Tendercare Portage where his mother lives.  She is currently suffering from congestive heart failure and receiving hospice care.

Darren Littell a spokesman for the Michigan Republican Party is apologizing for any trouble that the mailer may have caused.

Currently Fisher is running against Brandt Iden for county commissioner in the 61st District . Iden says that he doesn't agree with the party's tactics in this case.
