Today the University of Michigan Board of Regents met and decided Brown University Provost Dr. Mark Schlissel will be the school's next president.  He has an extensive bio-medical research background. In 1986 he earned a doctorate degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In 1979 he received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University. He's 56 years old, married and has four children. He takes over for the retiring Mary Sue Coleman. He'll be the school's 14th President.

His first official day on the job will be July 1 and his yearly base salary will be $750,000.
