It's time to get together what you no longer need and recycle it.  The former East Lansing event known as Project Pride is getting underway again today with a new name but an old concept.

East Lansing officials are announcing the community-wide project for today from 8 am until 3 pm to allow residents to clear their homes and yards of a variety of household items.

The items to be accepted free of charge include, air conditioners. small appliances, cell phones, corrugated cardboard, car batteries and clothing in good condition.

Board of Water and Light customers who recycle working air conditions or dehumidifiers could also qualify for a $25 rebate.

The event, which is being held at the recycling center at Abbott Center is also offering document shredding free of charge.
