Former President Bill Clinton, said by some to be one of the best speakers--and best fundraisers for the Democrats--will be visiting the state on Wednesday with a trip to Flint, and tickets to the event can be gotten at any Democratic Party office in the Detroit area, East Lansing, Saginaw, Bay City and Flint.

Clinton is the latest to make a stump here in an effort to drum up support for the democratic hopefuls for governor and U. S. Senate in Michigan.

MLive.com is reporting that Clinton is will also come in the form of a cheerleader, who can rally the troops and get them to the polls in November.  Polls show a lead for Gary Peters over Terri Lynn Land but the race for governor is still neck-in-neck with Governor Snyder with the edge.

This is not Clinton's first visit to Flint, according to the article.  He visited Vehicle City in 1992 as then-governor of Arkansas.  He also visited the University of Michigan-Flint and made train stops in Holly and Fenton in 1994 and 1996, respectively.

The high-profile Democratic visit comes after two other name-grabbers:  Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama.  President Obama is even set to visit in a get-out-the-vote effort.

Republicans have had their share of headliners too, including Mitt Romney, Chris Christie, Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz and more are likely on the way in these final weeks before the election.
