The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) conducted an audit of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and found that the ATF is apparently retaining gun owner’s personal information illegally.

What is this all about and why are they retaining this type of information?  This concerns me very much as it should concern all of us.

The Daily Caller is reporting that the GAO "found it does not remove certain identifiable information, despite the law explicitly mandating it do so. GAO conducted reviews for four data systems, and concluded at least two of ATF’s systems violated official protocols."

For example the ATF has a computer system called Multiple Sales (MS).  This system is used to record multiple firearms purchased at once.  These purchases must be reported to the ATF by the federal firearms licensee.   The ATF's own policy calls for them to "internally remove particular data from multiple gun sales reports after two years if the firearm has not been traced to criminal activity".   The GAO audit found that the ATF does not delete that personal information.

Now you have to ask yourself why do they not adhere to their own policy and who is being held accountable for not following their own policy.  I would bet you that no one is being held accountable and they are breaking their own policy because the administration is telling them to.  It has been well established that the Obama Administration and the Democrat party is fighting very hard to at the least water down the second amendment and at the worse overturn the 2nd amendment.

The only other reason they are not is because they are horrible at doing their job and if they are horrible at doing their job they should be let go.  Should we as taxpayers be paying good money for people who are keeping such sensitive personal information of any citizen?

With all the hacking that is going on in our government who knows who now holds all this personal information.

It is time to stand up against such tyranny and elect politician who will protect the constitution and fight for us the American people.  Is that too much to ask for?

Let’s talk about this today on The Live with Renk Show which airs Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to noon. To let me know your thoughts during the show please call (269) 441-9595.
