Target will stop separating building sets and all toys, bedding, home decor, entertainment, and more by gender.

Now as I said on my show today why they separate building sets by gender I do not know and would agree with people who say that is wrong.  My issue comes when you no longer believe that you should separate other items by gender.

Boys and men generally do not want to buy feminine bedding, entertainment, or clothing.

Girls and women generally do not want to buy masculine bedding, entertainment, or clothing.

Why can we not go to sections of a store that cater to what we want and need?

Ladies, is it not already difficult to get your boyfriend or husband to go shopping with you?  Now it could be even more difficult.

I read an article in The Washington Post which quotes a press release from Target which stated “We never want guests or their families to feel frustrated or limited by the way things are presented over the past year, guests have raised important questions about a handful of signs in our stores that offer product suggestions based on gender. In some cases, like apparel, where there are fit and sizing differences, it makes sense. In others, it may not.”

So another retailer falls to the PC extremist.

Why do these group believe the there are not real differences between boys and girls and men and women?

Why do these groups not know that men and women bring different qualities to a relationship and parenting, qualities that children need.

The Washington Post reporter states that she believes these campaigns are adding to the rise in awareness of the LGBTQ community.

What retailers will be next?

Any ideas?
