The Michigan State Police are creating posts to conduct private business in order to lower crime, according to the Associated Press.  These posts will be used as safe sites for transactions between private citizens.

There have been incidents across the state of Michigan where people are being robbed after meeting to do private business.  According to State police Lt. David Kaiser, when selling or buying items from a stranger robbery is "a preventative measure for citizens."

One situation they have used as an example was a woman who put an add on craigslist.  She offered three rings for sale.  A man asked to meet her because he was interested in the rings, and then he robbed her.  The man plead guilty to larceny and is currently doing time in prison.

This is not the first time state police officials have offered safe business posts.
