The Michigan Department of Transportation is scheduled to close Southbound US-127 to all traffic this weekend near the Frandor Area in Lansing. The freeway will close at 10:00 AM Friday morning, August 3 and will remain closed through Sunday, August 5 at 12:00 PM for concrete replacement.

All traffic freeway will be diverted onto surface streets at the Grand River Avenue/Saginaw Street/Michigan Avenue interchange. The posted detour for Southbound US-127 will carry traffic along Howard Street to the Southbound US-127 entrance ramp south of Kalamazoo Street.

Also, the ramps from Howard Street and Southbound US-127 to Westbound I-496 will be closed. Southbound traffic trying to get to Westbound I-496 and Downtown Lansing will be detoured south on US-127 to Dunckel Road. Then, motorists will be directed back onto Northbound US-127 to Westbound I-496.
