Should Michigan Electoral Votes Be Split?

Michigan State Rep. Pete Lund is revising his 2011 bill, which would apportion electoral votes in Michigan to the presidential candidate who wins each of Michigan's 14 congressional districts.  With two additional votes going to the winner of the statewide popular vote.

Currently winner of the popular vote in Michigan takes all of the electoral votes.

In the 2012 presidential election President Obama won 5 out of 14 Michigan Congressional Districts with Romney winning the remaining 9 of the 14.  McCain won 2 out of 14 in 2008

Maine and Nebraska are the only states to not have a winner-take-all system, splitting electoral votes based on congressional district.
