WZZM-13 is reporting that several buildings have been damaged and an unknown number of people are trapped after a possible tornado touched down in Portland, Mich., according to Ionia County Sheriff.

The touchdown occurred at roughly 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Photos from residents in the area show heavy damage at the Goodwill location, a car wash, and Rite Aid, where a portion of a exterior wall and roof are missing. Pieces of insulation and other debris are scattered across parking lots.

Emergency crews are staging nearby at the Portland Fire Department on East Grand River Avenue.

WZZM-13 has updated this story to indicate that all people trapped inside of the Goodwill have been rescued.
