Lead poisoning is something new home owners should be aware of.  Muskegon County and Detroit have been awarded $4.74 million in federal grant money to protect children from the possibility of lead poisoning.

The grants were issued by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  39 different state and local agencies are going to receive $112 millon for programs to try to reduce the chance children will be exposed to lead poisoning in the home.
