A 24-year-old woman is being held in Roseville in the death of a newborn baby.

The child was found in a recycling center in suburban Detroit on January 14.  Investigators say the baby boy was 1 to 3 days old.

The woman was arrested Monday.  Roseville police Chief James P. Berlin said the woman had been pregnant and that people questioned her explanation for why there was no baby.

Detectives are still investigating.  They will head to St. Clair County to speak to "specific people."

The child will be buried in Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.  Employees at the Macomb County morgue have named the child after General Alexander Macomb, the county's namesake, Henry Alexander Macomb.  Local business and community leaders are donating a casket, headstone and cemetery plot for the infant.
