As a part of Detroit's bankruptcy plan artwork at the Detroit Institute of Arts can be considered city assets and could be sold to help pay off debts. To try and prevent that from happening quite a few are getting involved and they have put together a significant fund raising effort. So far they have generated over $300 million. It's being reported a number of foundations are expected to take part. In addition over 100 individuals have made contributions as well.
