Michigan Woman Mistook Jail for Bar

It happened in Van Buren County.  Deputy Robert Miersma spotted a 39-year-old woman backing into a parking spot at 2 a.m. at the Van Buren County sheriff's department.

According to Miersma the Hartford-area woman smelled of alcohol and appeared to be very intoxicated.  A breath test was administered and the results showed she was more than twice the 0.08 percent blood alcohol legal limit.

The woman was attempting to pick up her boyfriend from a bar.  She mistook the jail for the bar he was at.

Both buildings have bars in them, one you can leave freely the other well...

She is expected to face drunk driving charges.
