The traffic light is out. It must mean the intersection is a 4-way stop now. But, that's technically not what Michigan Traffic Codes call for. Approaching traffic must yield for the busier traffic flow in the intersection.

But, WLNS.com reports that state lawmakers want to clarify the laws in these situations. Senator Rick Jones has submitted a bill that would make intersections with nonworking signals 4-way stops. The state Senate has already approved the measure that is supported by Michigan State Police. The bill now heads to the House of Representatives
