Michigan Is Auctioning Off Portions Of Mackinac Bridge

WILX.com is reporting that the State of Michigan is ready to auction off some items that may interest the collectors of nostalgic material.

Pieces of the original infrastructure of the Mackinac Bridge are available to interested bidders. Collectors can bid on pieces of Mighty Mac's original steel grating. But, keep in mind, these are not exactly small, light pieces of steel.

Each section being auctioned reportedly weighs in at right around 4,000 pounds. The segments are approximately 5.5 feet by 38 feet and 5 inches deep.

The auction is being facilitated by GovDeals. Bidding is expected to continue through April 19.
