A new study done by the Michigan Department of Community Health finds for those who needed drug treatment at facilities statewide on average about two out of every ten go in for addiction to heroin. Alcohol was the highest at 38% followed by marijuana at 15%, prescription drugs 14%, cocaine 8% and methamphetamine 2%. Out of all of those, however, officials say heroin cases are increasing the fastest. And with additional users comes more fatalities. They say adding to the problem: heroin has become easier to get.
