The hits just keep on coming for CNN, The New York Times and others in the national media arena. With each embarrassment the damage to credibility of the national news outlets becomes deeper. I wonder if the national news outlets will ever fully recover.

Some like CNN, The New York Times, The Washington Post and others have taken more damaging hits than some others. The latest revelations from CNN left three veteran members of the news team without jobs and another reeling from being caught on tape admitting the whole Russian collusion story is; and I am quoting here, “Bulls@#*!” In fact,

a senior producer for the floundering network admits on tape during an undercover Project Veritas sting, the only reason for pounding the Russian collusion story is for ratings and money.

Meanwhile the New York Times is being sued for defamation by former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin for an article that has also been retracted claiming a direct connection between Palin and the shooting of former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords in 2011. That is a storyline that has been discredited for years but the Times went for it anyway. Now they could be on the hook for tens of millions of dollars.

In yet another case CNN retracted a story linking a Trump transition member to a Russian bank. It has been completely debunked and another pile of money could be on the way out the door.

I just sit here and wonder what ever happened to having trust in the national media but it certainly isn’t what it used to be.
