Lions Lose At Green Bay, Head To Dallas For First Round of Playoffs

Two Calvin Johnson touchdowns were not enough for the Detroit Lions to snap their 23-year losing streak at Lambeau Field as the Green Bay Packers clinched the NFC North  by holding off the Lions 30-20 Sunday afternoon.

Detroit (11-5), which had already clinched a playoff berth, will enter the post season as the sixth seed and will head to Dallas to face the NFC East champion and third-seeded Cowboys on Sunday at 4:40 p.m.

Green Bay (12-4) will have a first round bye then host a playoff game.

Aaron Rodgers fought off a calf injury to account for three Packer touchdowns by finding Randall Cobb for two touchdown strikes then finding the end zone himself on a 1 yard plunge.

Green Bay opened the scoring with a 55 yard punt return touchdown by Micah Hyde then the Pack capped their scoring when they forced Matthew Stafford into an intentional grounding penalty in the end zone for a safety. Stafford found Theo Riddick in the end zone with 1:45 left in the game however Joique Bell could not punch the two point conversion and the Lions were unable to recover the onside kick.

Stafford finished 20 for 41 for 217 yards and three touchdowns. Bell led Detroit in rushing with 13 carries for 60 yards and Golden Tate led Detroit in receiving with three catches for 45 yards.
