Legislators Stress Urgency of Road and Bridge Repairs
Today lawmakers on the State House Transportation Committee discussed the impact the terrible winter has had on our roads and what can be done to get them fixed as quickly as possible.
On option being proposed would allocate over $400 million to get a wide range of road and bridge repair projects done next year. Under this plan a portion of the state sales tax would be used to help cover the cost.
Another way to generate more money: make modifications in how the state taxes vehicle fuels. That possibility is also being considered.
