The Michigan State Police along with local police and sheriff's departments are on the watch for those D.U.I.. This most recent effort covers a period when many over do it: spring break, a time when N.C.A.A. basketball tournaments are played as well as St. Patrick's Day. So they are warning now to quote "catch a sober ride". This latest campaign runs through April 7.

The State Police say a study of crash data has indicated both alcohol use and lack of seat belt use play a significant role in fatal and serious injury crashes in March and early April. Last year over this time period 2,271 were arrested on drunk driving charges in Michigan.
