Lansing Will Enjoy Warming Temperatures Ahead Of Weekend Arctic Blast

Mid-Michigan is going to enjoy a mid-winter warmup into the fifties this week before another arctic blast makes its way towards us by the weekend.

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids says temperatures Wednesday in Lansing will get into the mid-40's and then the mid-50's for Thursday. But, the warming trend is not a sign of early spring. In fact, it will be short lived.

Cold temperatures set back in Friday with highs expected both Saturday and Sunday in the middle teens once again. To add to that disappointment, there is the potential for a major snow event Friday night into Saturday.

The National Weather Service is not yet ready to forecast any accumulation amounts, as the track of the storm bringing snow is yet to be defined. However, the Detroit Free Press is reporting the possibility of 5 to 8 inches of snow for southeast Michigan Friday night and Saturday.
