According to a report from WLNS.com, The City of Lansing's newly adopted medical marihuana ordinance goes into effect this weekend. Language in the ordinance requires operators of dispensaries in the city to apply for licenses to operate legally within city limits. The ordinance also caps the number of dispensaries in Lansing to just 25.

According to the story, the new ordinance requires a two-phase application process for those dispensary owners that want to remain open. Though the number of dispensaries within city limits will be capped, there will not be a cap put on the amount of licenses for those who wish to grow, deliver, test, or process medical marijuana products.

Applications will be available online starting Friday. Click this link to the WLNS stroy for those details.
