Randall Fieck of Marquette has agreed to plead guilty on drug charges.

An investigation into Fieck began when his 6-year-old daughter attended school smelling of marijuana.  The principal called the police to report the smell.  Police searched the man's Dickinson County home and found more than 50 marijuana plants growing in his basement.

He appeared in federal court Wednesday after he failed to convince a judge that there was not probable cause for police to search his home.

Fieck has agreed to plead guilty to growing 50 or more marijuana plants.  He does have a medical marijuana card, but the number of plants he was growing exceeded the limit.

Michigan law allows a patient to grown up to 12 plants for their own use if they are a medical marijuana card holder.
