The state of Illinois is rolling snake-eyes when it comes to being able to pay it’s bills and avoid bankruptcy. Governor Bruce Rauner says the state is on the verge of being a Banana Republic. The next casualty could be the state lottery. The Illinois Comptroller says the legal obligations of the state will take 100 percent of the states money and leave the lottery unfunded and that means by law it will be forced to shut down.

Governor Rauner, a Republican will be facing the Democratic dominated legislature in an effort to get a budget through for the first time in more than 3 years.

The Illinois State Lottery Commission isn’t taking any chances because the gamble is just too big they say. With that in mind they are already planning to shut down both Mega Millions and Powerball.

The real problem is when Illinois does go broke, which it will the rest of America will be stuck with the bill. Sorry about the bad news but that is the way it is.
