According to new statistics Detroit is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1967.

Detroit has seen a 15% reduction in the homicide rate last year followed by an additional 13% decrease this year.

What other crimes are also down significantly:

  • carjacking is down 30%
  • robbery down by 2%
  • non-fatal shootings down by 13%

Give credit to Detroit Police Chief James Craig, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy as well as a new comprehensive strategy named Detroit One.

It is great to report good news about Detroit and would love to see it succeed.
