It's something you don't normally see....or perhaps won't see again.   Governor Rick Snyder sitting in a chair being doused with an ice-cold bucket of water!

The Republican governor 'let his hair down' this weekend to raise money for the fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis--or ALS.  MLive.com is reporting Snyder said yes to the fundraising challenge issued by furniture magnate Art Van Elslander.  Invitees are asked to have ice water dumped on their head as a show of support, or make a financial donation, or both.

The Governor's ALS Ice Bucket Challenge was captured on video and posted on Youtube.

"ALS is a terrible disease.  It's something we need to act on," Snyder said.

The Governor then issued his own challenge, wanting WJR radio host Paul W. Smith.

The ALS Association says the challenge has been the most successful ever, raising more than $13 million between July 29th and August 17th.
