Last August Michigan lawmakers approved a plan that would allow for the state's Medicaid Program to expand. Today Governor Snyder said those who qualify can start signing up April 1. In the first year of the program it's estimated over 300,000 who are low income will be able to get coverage.

The Governor says computer systems will be used to provide details about the program. He says they have gone through a complete testing procedure and he says he's confident everything will be ready to go a week from next Tuesday.

It's called the Healthy Michigan Plan and the Governor says it will provide those who do not have health care coverage now a better quality of life.
