Gas prices down statewide but that could change--and possibly for the better.

Gasbuddy.com is reporting the average now about 3.14 a gallon.  That's down about 9 cents as compared to last week.  A switch to a winter blend is being credited for keeping the prices down.  That, coupled with less demand.

Many, though, are set to travel for the Christmas season, and that could increase prices due to increased demand, but improvements at an Indiana refinery could stablize those prices even more heading into next year.  The facility is one of the top refineriess in the country.

Analysts also say there are ways to drive up mileage.  They remind motorists to check the air in their tires and to slow down--even just a few miles an hour--to get the most out of every gallon of gasoline.
