Final Red Tape Cut On Pistons’ Move To Downtown Detroit
The Detroit Pistons have cleared all hurdles to move to Downtown Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena. According to WLNS.com, the Michigan Strategic Fund has approved the use of $36 million in revenue bonds to aid the move, as requested by Detroit’s Downtown Development Authority.
However, The Detroit News reports that the Detroit City Council still has to vote on the deal, as it is an amended package from an initial $250 million bond grant to build Little Caesars Arena. But, since the council voted unanimously to allow D.D.A. to submit an amended request, approval of additional funds likely will pass as well.
