Today the Michigan Retailers Association is out with a new report on retail sales. In all nearly 100 retailers were questioned. When the tally was complete here's what was determined:
When compared to last year at this time the study found 37% said business had improved. However 47% said things got worse. The rest said sales were unchanged.
Analysts say a number of factors were responsible for the downturn. They included higher gasoline prices along with more costly home heating bills due to the unusually long and very cold winter.
